My mother fell. She was 83, and the fall was bad enough that she was in severe pain and couldn't be moved in a regular vehicle. She needed to get to a rehabilitation facility - not a hospital emergency room, not a crisis, but not something we could handle with a family car either.
I didn't know what sat in the middle. I didn't realize there was a middle.
