My loved one had been at a senior facility for some time and needed to be relocated to a different one. The medical transport piece I'd expected to sort out - gurney transport between facilities, that's a known service.

What I hadn't thought through was everything else. The small collection of things that had made her room feel like hers: a few framed photos, some personal items, the things that matter when a room is the only space you have.

Moving between facilities sounds clinical. But it meant uprooting her entire world, small as that world had become. I needed someone who understood that.
